A word or two about us
Hillsboro, Oregon was established in 1842 in the Tualatin Valley just west of Portland. Embraced by the Coast Range and facing south, the Valley is fertile, warm, and conducive to hunting and farming … a fact not lost on its earliest inhabitants, the Atfalati Indian tribe, or more recent 19th emigrés from the Eastern United States.
Hillsboro is today home to Century Farms and recent immigrants from near and far who have moved here to work in our Silicon Forest, which provides thousands of jobs at Intel, Solar World, and other major US corporations.
Our goal is to protect and preserve our historic properties and to educate and engage the public in appreciating the value of our heritage and its contribution to the culture of our community.
